2024 Bookstores + Recap

The 2024 Austin Texas Book Trail took place on Saturday, April 27.

The day included a morning kickoff, passport/trail map of participating stores, and a happy hour to close it all out — all with the purpose of supporting local, independent, and non-profit community bookstores in Austin and the surrounding towns.

Here’s how the 2024 trail worked:

1) Start your day at the kickoff breakfast at Mañana Dos.

Grab free coffee and tacos (while supplies last) from 9-11am at Mañana Dos. Pick up your 2024 Trail Map there or at any participating store (full list above).

2) Visit bookstores all day long for special discounts and prizes.

Use your printed Trail Map or our official Google Map guide to plan your crawl, whether you’re focusing on just one neighborhood or hitting as many stores as you can.

  • If a store has a special deal going on that day (free coffee, 20% off, etc), the map checklist will note it.

  • Each store you visit gets you an entry into our raffle. Ask a bookseller at each store to mark the front of your map where the checkbox is.

  • No purchase is necessary at each stop, but buying books and supporting our local shops is always encouraged!

3) Wind down at the happy hour at Better Half.

Visit our popup booksellers, check out the raffle prize bundles*, and meet other trail-goers as we toast the day together at Better Half Coffee & Cocktails from 5-7pm.

*Official ATBT raffle prizes include an array of gift cards, books, and bookish goodies from each store.
